Artifact Count Spreadsheet
The Artifact Count spreadsheet was put together by project archaeologist Catherine Alston while creating the distribution maps. It provides a simple way to obtain basic counts of general artifact classes, and to compare the various sites on this basis. Because the counts were generated fairly early in the project, note that they sometimes will differ somewhat from counts obtained from the final artifact database.
Please note: if you need to download this spreadsheet in non-Excel 2003 format, please go to the Downloads page, where you can download it as an Excel 95, CSV (comma-separated variable), or XML Spreadsheet file. The data was also imported into Access and added to the Artifact and Context record database. It can be downloaded with the complete database on the Downloads page.
Note that many cells have comments describing the contents of the cell (mostly which artifact types have been grouped together to create the count). The comment can be opened in Excel by holding the mouse over the red triangle in the upper right corner of the cell.
